Sacramento Kings guard De'Aaron Fox has got to be one of the nerdiest players in the NBA. That's not a knock, by the way–the league definitely has its fair of unique personalities and hobbyists, and Fox is one of its proudest.

But of those hobbyists and passionate fans, Fox is arguably the most out and proud for his love of anime, which he has been richly rewarded for. Check out the hookup Nike gave the Kings star on the Kobe A.D.:

Nike has been known for its unique player customs and colorways. One recent one that comes to mind is their iconic collaboration with Nickelodeon to create SpongeBob SquarePants-themed colorways for one of Kyrie Irving's signature shoes. The Kobe line itself has had its own share of unique collabs, like the Grinch and Bruce Lee colorways.

But none of those are 1-of-1 colorways. Of those, De'Aaron Fox probably has the coolest of all. His breakdown of the colorway is poignant given Bryant's passing (the name of the shoe itself makes you tear up) and the eventual severing of his estate with Nike. Soon, there might not even be any new Kobe releases.

The Kobe A.D. is neither the most iconic, nor best-reviewed of Kobe's line. That said, keeping this pair on ice is the best way to preserve such a unique colorway and tribute for an iconic sneaker line. The Kings speedy scorer needs to keep those absolutely crisp, not just for the value or his fandom, but because of what these sneakers represent.

Because of all the players in the NBA, Fox is one of five liable to go Super Saiyan on any given night. And the Kings youngster is probably the only anime fan on that list.

Hopefully, we can see Fox play with those shoes and go off like a true Super Saiyan.
