The tumultuous 2017-18 NBA season continues for the Sacramento Kings with yet another key loss in the backcourt. It goes without saying that the Kings have had their fair share of struggles with their current personnel all year.

However, the last thing they needed was to take a hit to their young core. According to Sean Cunningham of  ABC10 Sacramento, point guard De'Aaron Fox re-aggravated a right quad injury versus the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday night and was unable to return.

De'Aaron Fox had originally sustained the quad injury during the first quarter of last week's loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Prior to his exit versus the Sixers, he had registered two points, on 1-0f-4 shooting in 11 minutes.

His performance is reminiscent of the recent shooting struggles he has experienced after a solid start to the year. The fifth overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft kicked off the season averaging 13.4 points, 5.0 assists, and 4.3 rebounds in his first seven games for the Kings.

However, his performance has declined since taking on a starting role for the Kings. Fox registered just 8.6 points, 4.1 assists, and 2.4 rebounds per game in the month of November. As a result, he has now started to experience a slight downtick in minutes. Fortunately, the injury is not deemed to be serious and he will have a chance to bounce back assuming his exit from the game was simply a precaution.
