The Sacramento Kings chose to trade Tyrese Haliburton, and while it didn't seem like a wise move on their part, they were able to reclaim star big man Domantas Sabonis as a result.
Once Sabonis and De'Aaron Fox get used to one other, they should be one of the best duos in the NBA. With both of those players on the roster, Sacramento has to be quite enthused about the future of the franchise.
Brendan Nunes, a Sacramento Kings reporter, reported that Fox had this to say about playing with new Sacramento big man Domantas Sabonis,
“Being able to play with somebody who you can throw the ball into the post to very consistently, I think it changes the dynamic of any team… definitely helps us tremendously”
Everything De'Aaron Fox says about Sabonis is absolutely correct. Inside the paint, Sabonis is a force to be reckoned with, and he can do a lot of other things on both sides of the ball.
Sacramento may be a few years away from becoming true Western Conference contenders, but if they can turn things around in the second half, they could be able to sneak into the play-in game.
The Kings haven't made the playoffs in a long time, and all of their fans and players are eager to return to the place where they believe this team belongs.
On Thursday, the Sacramento Kings will face the Denver Nuggets in their first game since the All-Star break.
