Sacramento Kings guard Iman Shumpert wanted to meet Portland Trail Blazers center Jusuf Nurkic after their showdown on Monday night at the Golden 1 Center.

According to Peter Socotch of NBC Sports Northwest, Shumpert was seen outside Portland's locker room after the game. The 28-year-old guard was reportedly looking to have a “conversation” with Nurkic. However, cooler heads prevailed, as team security prevented a possible skirmish.

Iman Shumpert and Jusuf Nurkic engaged in a verbal tussle during their match. Shumpert was seen confronting Nurkic after going down when he tried to run through a hard screen set by the Blazers center.

Both men aren't going to back down on anyone. But, fortunately, cooler heads prevailed, at least during the game.

Shumpert had the last laugh, though, as his Kings escaped with a 115-107 win over the Trail Blazers. Buddy Hield led the Kings with 19 points and seven rebounds. Bogdan Bogdanovic finished with 18 points, while De'Aaron Fox ended up with 16 points and nine rebounds for Sacramento, who improved to their record to 23-21.

For the Blazers, Damian Lillard led the way with 35 points, three rebounds, and five assists. Nurkic cooled off with only six points but he did grab 11 rebounds and dished out five assists to go along with one block.
