Sacramento Kings forward Marvin Bagley III has been given the green light to suit up for Thursday night's road game against the Boston Celtics:

Bagley, who's celebrating his 20th birthday, has been dealing with a sprained left knee since Feb. 27. MRI scans taken at the time came back clean, and he was given a 1-2 week timetable for return. The former Duke Blue Devil was cleared for basketball activities on March 9.

“It's always tough not playing. That's what we signed up for: to play,” Bagley recently expressed to reporters. “I'm trying to be the best teammate and best person I can be while I'm out, learning and being supportive to the guys who are playing.”

The fact that Bagley is going to play in Thursday's game is certainly good news for the Kings, who are currently holding the No. 9 spot in the Western Conference standings with a 33-33 overall record.

In 47 appearances with the Kings (two starts), Bagley has racked up averages of 13.9 points on 50.9 percent shooting from the field (25.8 percent from beyond the arc), 7.2 rebounds and a block in 24.8 minutes per outing.

Thursday night's Kings-Celtics game is scheduled to tip inside TD Garden at 7:30 p.m. ET. In their last meeting, Gordon Hayward knocked down a game-winning shot for Boston.

According to ESPN, Sacramento has lost 10 straight in Beantown, dating all the way back to January 2007. Let's see if that narrative changes.
