Sacramento Kings youngster Marvin Bagley III says he has “a lot of communication” with new head coach Luke Walton.

This is relevant because Bagley and Dave Joerger supposedly didn't have the best relationship behind the scenes last season.

The Kings, as an organization, are looking forward to seeing how Walton is going to utilize Bagley next season. The lefty is excited for the 2019-20 campaign to start and says Walton has been in his ear this summer.

“Just be ready, it’s going to be exciting,” Bagley said when asked about the message he's received from Walton, via Jason Jones of The Athletic. “When I’m working out, I talk to him every now and then and he’s at my workouts every now and then. We have a lot of communication, dinners, lunches and stuff. It’s going to be exciting. I can’t wait to get back out there and learn the new coaching staff, what they do and just getting back at it and having fun.”

The Kings haven't made the playoffs since 2006. For the first time in years, though, the franchise actually has a bright future.

The Kings' roster is headlined by De'Aaron Fox, Bagley, Harrison Barnes, Buddy Hield and Bogdan Bogdanovic. Sacramento signed veterans Trevor Ariza, Dewayne Dedmon and Cory Joseph in free agency, three players who will be good-locker room guys and should provide the team with some much-needed on-court stability.
