Sacramento Kings shooting guard Buddy Hield is reportedly not answering head coach Luke Walton's phone calls this offseason, but the team isn't too concerned about it, per James Ham of NBC Sports California.

The Kings supposedly understand that players can be distant from their organizations in the offseason. The franchise also knows that Hield is working on his game since he's a tireless worker.

Via Ham:

According to a source with knowledge of the situation, the Kings understand that it’s the offseason, they know that Hield is a tireless worker and they expect him to be ready for the start of training camp and the season, whenever that might be.

Hield's behavior has become a pattern, and the Kings are well aware of the issue. The Kings also understand that Hield is a hard worker who professionally does his job once he steps onto the court.

Buddy Hield didn't get along with former Kings coach Dave Joerger. Now, the sharpshooter doesn't appreciate Luke Walton bringing him off the bench, especially since Hield signed a lucrative contract extension with Sacramento before the 2019-20 season started.

The Kings continue to be a walking disaster, folks. This is clearly the Sacramento franchise trying to do some damage control in the wake of the Walton report. After all, how many other players are deliberately ignoring phone calls from their head coach?

Hield averaged 19.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game for the Kings in 2019-20 while shooting 42.9 percent from the field and 39.4 percent from beyond the arc. It's going to be very interesting to see if Buddy is on the team by the time the 2020-21 season starts.
