The Memphis Grizzlies wanted Bogdan Bogdanovic from the Sacramento Kings for Marc Gasol, league sources say, but he isn’t being made available to the team.

According to FantasyPros, while Bogdanovic was initially doing well for this season, he's been struggling over these last few games.

“Bogdan Bogdanovic struggled from the field once again on Monday night as he finished with six points, two assists, two rebounds, and one steal in 21 minutes off the bench. Bogdanovic went 3-for-10 from the field 0-for-4 from three. Bogdanovic has shot only 31% from the field and 15% from three over his last five games despite averaging 11 points a game. He's just not efficient enough to say that he should be started in leagues.”

While Bogdanovic was a prime candidate when he was first drafted to the Phoenix Suns at the beginning of his career, he's not as in demand now.

This is, in part, due to his inability to play as well as he did prior to his knee injury. On April 24, 2018, he underwent a series of surgeries to finish repairing his left knee. Despite the injury, he was named to the NBA Rookie All-Star team the following month, and was selected as a member of Team World for the 2019 Rising Stars Challenge.

It should be interesting to see if, ultimately, the team decides to hold on to him, or to trade him. Either way, the Kings are heading in the right direction and have a lot of young players they can build around.
