With the trade rumors that continue to swirl about a possible deal that will send George Hill to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for Channing Frye and Iman Shumpert, the Kings could be making some moves as well in order to clear a roster spot.

That said, there’s been chatter that they may be looking to find deals involving promising young big man Skal Labissiere and swingman Malachi Richardson, according to Adrian Wojnarowski and Brian Windhorst of ESPN.

“Sacramento has to clear a roster spot to take on one or two additional players in a deal with Cleveland and has been discussing deals for young forwards Malachi Richardson and Skal Labissiere to clear roster spots, league sources said.”

Labissiere has been a bright spot for the Kings so far this season and has appeared in 40 games for them. He is averaging 8.0 points and 4.4 rebounds in 17.9 minutes and has earned a starting role in some of their previous games. His production is on the rise and is slowly proving that he can be more than just a serviceable big man.

Richardson on the other hand has seen some action both in the NBA and the G League but has played for the Kings in 23 games this year. He has shown glimpses of his true potential in some stretches and is producing 3.5 points and 1.3 rebounds in 12.7 minutes per game.

The two can be both considered intriguing prospects especially for teams looking for young players who can be part of their future plans. With how they have performed this season, they could generate interest from around the league but it will still depend on what the asking price of the Kings will be and how willing they are to part ways with them.
