The small forward market is drying up, and the Sacramento Kings are still looking for one to fill out their roster. One guy they have interest in according to Jason Jones of the Sacramento Bee is restricted free agent Rodney Hood from the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Kings have swung and missed on a couple of free agents this summer including Zach LaVine who had signed an offer sheet with the team, but the Bulls ultimately matched it.

According to Jones, the Kings have interest in Hood's service, but it hasn't gone far enough yet to sign him to an offer sheet, although it could be coming. Right now the Kings really only have Justin Jackson at small forward and if they can't another guy, they are probably going to be pretty undersized at that position.

Hood was really good for the Utah Jazz last year before being traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers. In 39 games he averaged 16.8 points, but when he went to the Cavs his role really diminished and he only averaged a little under 11 points per game.

The Kings are a young roster, and the pressure wouldn't be on Hood as much as it was with the Cavs last year. It would seem like a good fit for both sides.

The Cavs have the right to match any offer that Hood receives, but they are already over the salary cap, so depending on what the Kings offer they might end up declining the offer and letting him sign with the Kings.
