Kliff Kingsbury is the current head coach of the Arizona Cardinals. The former NFL quarterback and coach of Texas Tech made the switch from college to pro football in 2019. Since then, he had two underwhelming seasons with the Cardinals before turning it on this year. The squad is currently 10-4 and is looking like a potential Super Bowl contender. With discussions about a potential contract extension, let's dig into Kliff Kingsbury's net worth in 2021.

Kliff Kingsbury's net worth in 2021 (estimate): $14 million

Kliff Kingsbury's net worth in 2021

Kliff Kingsbury's net worth in 2021 is $14 million. This is according to numerous outlets, including Media Referee. He had a somewhat silent NFL career before becoming a coach both in college and pro football. This number is surely going to increase in the next couple of years, with the talks of a contract extension, but it is interesting to see where does it come from now.

Kingsbury was born in San Antonio, Texas, in 1979. Growing up in a state that loves football as Texas does, it was only natural that he starts playing. He started in his local high school, where he was coached by his dad, Tom. Of course, he did not limit himself to only football, as he also played baseball, basketball, and ran track. His high school football play, as it was his focus, earned him a spot in the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame, where he was inducted in 2018.

After high school, he played for the Texas Tech Red Raiders, from 1998 until 2002. He was a great player for the Red Raiders, as his most notable season earned him 9th place in the Heisman Trophy voting and the award for the best offensive player by the Associated Press. Overall, in his four years, Kingsbury led the Red Raiders to three Bowl Games and became one of only two Texas Tech quarterbacks to win games against both the Oklahoma Sooners and Texas Longhorns.

His time at college was truly great, but Kingsbury was not rated as high in the 2003 NFL Draft. He was selected with the 201st pick by the New England Patriots. Unfortunately for Kingsbury, he had an arm injury and did not compete for the Patriots that season. Still, as the Pats won the Super Bowl that season, he still has a ring from his rookie season. In the next few years, he had short stints for the Saints, Broncos, Jets, and the Bills, but only really featured for the Jets, where he made his NFL debut in 2005.

Before his final NFL chance with the Bills in 2006, he also played a season for the Cologne Centurions. This was a team competing in NFL Europe, a subsidiary of the NFL. That was also a short stint, as Kingsbury was assigned there by the Jets. He showed some potential playing in Germany, but it was not enough to keep his professional career going. Before calling it quits, he also spent time with two teams in Canada, playing for the Montreal Alouettes and Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Upon retirement in 2007, he had a short break from football before joining the University of Houston as the offensive quality control coach. That was in August of 2008, and right away in 2009, he made an impact. The Houston offense grew right away and he was shortly promoted to co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Kingsbury's UH stint ended with the 2011 Offensive Coordinator of the Year award. This, so far, didn't exactly help Kliff Kingsbury's net worth in 2021 all that much.

Kingsbury then joined Texas A&M for a short stint as offensive coordinator, before getting an opportunity to coach Texas Tech, the college he played for. In six years at Texas Tech, he had three bowl games, won one, and overall posted a 35-40 record. After that stint, he was the offensive coordinator for the University of Southern California for a month, before the NFL called and he became the Arizona Cardinals head coach.

In his three seasons with Arizona, Kingsbury posted a poor first season, then valiantly fought for playoffs and ended up falling behind due to a tiebreaker, and is now marching on to get the Cardinals to the playoffs for the first time since 2015. Currently, he is on a four-year deal with the NFL franchise that, reportedly, pays him around $5.5 million per year. That figure will surely rise soon, as this form of the Cardinals got other NFL teams inquiring about the young coach.

Outside the coaching gig, Kingsbury does not really do a lot of endorsements. Not much is known about other cash flows for the young coach, but as his stock rises in the NFL, that is most likely going to change.
