New York Knicks head coach David Fizdale is hoping that rookie forward Kevin Knox will be available for Thursday's game against the Raptors after it was thought that an ankle injury may have put an end to his season:

Knox, who the Knicks selected with the ninth pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, missed six games in October but had played in every game since for New York. Knox is averaging 12.6 points and 4.3 rebounds in what has been a very up and down season.

The former Kentucky standout has shown the kind of scoring prowess that made him such a highly-touted draft prospect in the first place, but his inefficiency (an Effective Field Goal percentage of just 43.8 percent) has marred some of the more positive aspects of his rookie season.

After struggling immensely in November, Knox seemed to find his rhythm in December. He posted 17.1 points and six rebounds per game while shooting over 38 percent from beyond the arc. Despite scoring at a respectable margin in January and February, his shooting percentages plummeted once again.

However, Knox has rebounded once again in March. Though his playing time has continued to decrease (27.8 minutes this month compared to over 30 minutes per game in each of the previous three), Knox has been far more efficient shooting the basketball.

The 19-year-old is averaging nearly 13 points and four rebounds per game while shooting nearly47 percent from three-point range while posting a 106 offensive rating this month, easily his best of the year.

Even if Knox does not suit up again in 2019, his promising finish bodes well for his progression heading into the summer.
