The New York Knicks have decided to hold point guard Emmanuel Mudiay out for their final two games of this season, according to a report from Marc Berman of The New York Post.

Mudiay has been dealing with a sore left shoulder, which has forced him to miss each of New York's previous two games. Mario Hezonja has seen an uptick in his usage rate at the point guard position since then, and that trend will likely continue as the Knicks close out this season.

Mudiay has become an important piece of New York's rotation. The 23-year-old ball handler has made 59 appearances with the team in this campaign, racking up averages of 14.8 points on 44.6 percent shooting from the field (32.9 percent from beyond the arc), 3.9 assists, 3.3 rebounds and just under one steal (0.8) in 27.2 minutes per outing.

Mudiay isn't the only point guard on the Knicks' roster who is dealing with an injury, though. Kadeem Allen (concussion) and Frank Ntilikina (groin) are recovering from ailments of their own. Allen could be available before this season ends, but the team is likely being cautious with their approach to his return. And just for the record, Allonzo Trier (calf) and Noah Vonleh (ankle) are both listed as day-to-day.

The Knicks will be back in action on Tuesday night, when they'll travel to Chicago for a matchup against the Bulls. Tip-off inside the United Center is set for 8:00 p.m. ET.
