Enes Kanter has played remarkably for the New York Knicks this season. He is currently averaging 14.0 points and 10.5 rebounds a game. Even with his production, the Knicks are 11th place in the Eastern Conference. They are six games back from the eight spot in the East and would have to go on some impressive run to actually be a threat to make the postseason this year.
Nonetheless, Enes Kanter believes that the Knicks can make the playoffs this year. In fact, Kanter believes that the Knicks' main goal is to make the postseason, per Zach Braziller of the NY Post.
“I think right now, our only goal is making the playoffs,” Enes Kanter said Saturday following practice. “Whatever guys they move or they don’t move, my thing is just focus on the playoffs. Obviously, I like every guy on our team. I would want to play with all the guys for the rest of my season and career because they’re just good locker room guys — besides basketball, they’re really just good guys off the court. “I think they know I want to be in the playoffs and that’s the only thing on my mind,”
The Knicks are certainly capable of making the postseason, but it's a different story if they can contend in the playoffs. Still, crazier things have happened. If the Knicks can string together some impressive wins down the stretch, they will have a chance.
The Eastern Conference playoff scene is constantly shifting, and many teams are fighting for positioning. Therefore, there is no better time like the present to make a postseason run.
