Enes Kanter has grown frustrated with his lack of playing time since the second half of the season started following the All-Star break. The New York Knicks made a move to give their young players more time during games, which has upset the Turkish international after seeing his role with the rotation diminish over time.

“Let me tell you something, man: They can develop guys in the G League,” said Kanter firmly, according to ESPN's Ian Begley. “This is not the time to develop young guys or whatever because we’re trying to win games here.”

Kanter echoed Marc Gasol's sentiments in regards to tanking, as the fellow Memphis Grizzlies center argued that the NBA has a league devoted to the development of their players in the G League and shouldn't use the rest of the regular season to give them playing time at the highest level, costing veteran players and fans any wins during the last stretch of the season.

The Knicks have only won one game since the break, losing nine in a row and 17 of their last 18 games, mired for misery rather than success by playing their inexperienced youth.

Kanter has only hit the 30-minute mark once since the All-Star break, playing an average of 24.2 minutes per game this month.

Head coach Jeff Hornacek put this system in place in hopes to figure out who is a must-keep going into next season, with the team nearly eliminated from playoff competition, sporting the second-worst losing streak in the league.
