The New York Knicks are looking to build on their momentum from last season after making a rousing return to the NBA Playoffs. Although they came up empty in the first round, it's clear that the Knicks are headed in the right direction.

With the acquisition of Kemba Walker, the Knicks addressed their need for a high-caliber starting point guard. Teaming up with young stars Julius Randle and RJ Barrett should bode well for Walker, who badly needed a change of scenery after a mediocre stint with the Boston Celtics.

Now, the Knicks need to lock up their center spot, particularly Mitchell Robinson. The team is leaning towards signing the upstart big man to an extension, which sounds like the logical move. Knicks president Leon Rose, however, gave a small caveat (via New York Post).

“As long as it’s not crazy.”

It sounds like Rose is not too keen on giving Robinson a lucrative deal. It's worth noting that the 23-year-old is coming off two major injuries last season. But he has been putting in the work in his recovery, including gaining more muscle. In fact, Robinson himself tweeted about his impending comeback.

“I’m bigger and stronger can’t wait to see how this year goes.”

Robinson's confidence should fire up Randle, Walker, Barrett, and the rest of the Knicks. They surely want to prove to everyone that last year's campaign wasn't just an aberration.

Mitchell Robinson was averaging solid numbers before getting sidelined and with a stronger physique, he can definitely do more damage.
