Julius Randle had it going on on Thursday night as he led the New York Knicks to a hard-fought 94-93 win over the Orlando Magic in Madison Square Garden. New York's All-Star forwarded logged his third triple-double of the season in the victory, which earned him a place in the Knicks' record books.

Randle now ranks second in most triple-doubles in a single season for the Knicks (h/t Marc J. Spears of ESPN):

Randle finished the evening with 18 points (on 8-of-20 shooting), 10 rebounds, and 17 assists as he amassed yet another eye-popping stat line for the Knicks. The 26-year-old assumed playmaking duties for his team early on, dishing out 10 assists in the first half alone. At that point, it was clear that Randle was in store for another big night.

New York has a bit of a shortage in the playmaking department right now with both Derrick Rose and Immanuel Quickley out with respective injuries/issues. Frank Ntilikina got the nod as the starting point guard, but it was Randle who pretty much played point-forward throughout the match.

The Knicks now improve to 21-21 with this win as they continue to strengthen their grip on a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. This was a huge victory for New York as they leaped to the seventh seed in the conference, overtaking the Boston Celtics. Right now, the Knicks are looking like a legitimate playoff team, and it has had a lot to do with Randle's elite level of play.
