The New York Knicks got themselves in a big hole in the first half of Game 7 against the Indiana Pacers, and OG Anunoby is out for the remainder of the game, according to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.

OG Anunoby returned to the starting lineup for Game 7 after suffering a hamstring injury during Game 2 of the series.

In the first half, Anunoby played for five minutes, hitting two shots, but he was unable to keep pace in transition while dealing with the hamstring. The Pacers shot the lights out in the first half against the Knicks, taking a 70-55 lead into the break.

This Knicks team has been banged up for a while, the rotation is short, and Anunoby and other injured players like Josh Hart have been trying to gut through it to get their team to the Eastern Conference Finals.

The statuses of Anunoby and Hart were the most in question heading into Game 7. Both of them were announced as active and in the starting lineup for the Knicks. Anunoby was clearly not effective. Hart has not been able to stay in the game, but has not been at peak form as well. New York is already dealing with the absences of Julius Randle, Bojan Bogdanovic and Mitchell Robinson. Randle went down during the regular season due to a shoulder injury, while Bogdanovic and Robinson were hurt in these playoffs.

Knicks fans react to OG Anunoby in Game 7

As Game 7 tipped off, the Knicks fans were pumped up to have Anunoby back in the lineup. Quickly, they realized that he was compromised and could not make the defensive impact that he usually does. It was disheartening for Knicks fans to realize his impact would be limited in a must-win game. Let's get to some of the reactions to Anunoby's early minutes.

“This is so frustrating to watch. OG Anunoby can't move. Donte DiVincenzo is limping up the court. Josh. Hart has an injury where he should be out for 2 weeks. Jalen Brunson's foot is bad. And now Isaiah Hartenstein was grabbing at his hip,” KnicksMuse said on X.

“So OG Anunoby gonna play 4 minutes and not play any more of the game. Fan duel about to take everyone's money,” Coach H said on X.

“Dawg why is OG Anunoby moving like he's 90 years old,” DTX said on X.

It has been a rough playoffs for the Knicks from an injury standpoint. Going in with Randle already injured, not many more injuries could have been dealt with. Bogdanovic getting hurt against the 76ers shortened the rotation, as did Robinson's injury.

As the Knicks likely go out in Game 7 with a loss, Brunson suffered a fractured left hand. In the end, the injuries were just too much for the Knicks. They will likely look to come back with a similar roster next year and try to get healthy to contend in the Eastern Conference.
