As fitting as it could get, the teams that were involved in one of the biggest trades in the offseason faced off against each other in their season opener. With the Oklahoma City Thunder hosting the New York Knicks on Thursday, it gave the home fans a chance to see their former player, wearing his new team's jersey for the first time.

During the player introductions, Thunder fans gave a rousing ovation to Enes Kanter, who has been one of the crowd favorites during his stint in OKC. He then showed his appreciation for the warm reception by raising his hand, and even blowing a kiss to them.

Enes Kanter spent the last three seasons with the Thunder, where he became a fixture in their rotation. Although he primarily played off the bench, he was able to provide the team quality minutes night in and night out, and has endeared himself to the fans for being vocal about his love for the city. Kanter, along with Doug McDermott and a 2018 second round pick, was part of the deal that sent Carmelo Anthony to the Thunder.

Now with the Knicks, he will have a chance to play a bigger role, especially with Joakim Noah injured. He is expected to minutes at the five with Willy Hernangomez. Enes Kanter has proven in the past that he is more than just a serviceable big man, and his opportunity with the Knicks could further allow him to show that, and take his career to a whole new level.
