Since Kobe Bryant stepped away from the NBA after 20 seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, he has been much more open about the various aspects of his career.

In a recent interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Bryant was asked about which current NBA player reminds him the most of himself.

Which up and coming player today reminds most about yourself? “Russell Westbrook.”

The 37-year-old has mentioned Westbrook before as the player that he believes played most like himself on the court and shared that same intense mindset during the game. Bryant was highly praised by current and former NBA players for his “killer instinct” mentality that played an integral part of his identity and playing style.

Westbrook has also adopted a bit of that persona with his career that has helped him garner six All-Star Game selections, two All-NBA First Team nods, All-NBA Second Team selections, and an NBA MVP award. He's coming off his most productive campaign where he joined Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson as the only players to average a triple-double for an entire season with a league-leading 31.6 points with 10.4 assists, and 10.7 rebounds per game.

He had also received high praise from Hall of Famer Michael Jordan, who stated that he shares the same passion for the game that he had during his career. This speaks to the caliber of player that Westbrook has become as he enters his 10th season in the NBA.
