The Los Angeles Lakers are on game two of a four-game road trip as they take on the Philadelphia 76ers Monday night. This game will continue our NBA odds series as we hand out a Lakers-76ers prediction and pick. We will also let you know how to watch the game.

The Lakers have won four of their last five games, and they are coming off a win against the Cleveland Cavaliers. LeBron James leads the team in points and assists as he averages 25.6, and 6.6. Anthony Davis scores over 20 points per game, as well. He compliments that with 12.1 rebounds per game. D'Angelo Russell is having a pretty good season as he scores 16.9 points, and dishes out 6.2 assists per game. The Lakers will be without Rui Hachimura again as he deals with his nasal fracture. Cam Reddish and James are questionable while Davis probable for the game.

The 76ers just played a tough Oklahoma City Thunder team on the road, and walked away with a hard-fought victory. That win snapped a small two-game losing streak. Joel Embiid is trying to win his second MVP award in as many years as he is scoring 31.1 points per game, and grabbing 11.3 rebounds. Tyrese Maxey has stolen the show in Philadelphia, though. He is scoring 26.4 points per game while collected 6.8 assists.

Why The Lakers Could Cover The Spread

Los Angeles will have Davis ready to go in this game, but James is questionable. Not having James is going to be a big hit, but Davis is capable of leading a team himself. In fact, James has missed one game already this season. In that game, Davis put up 30 points, 13 rebounds, and six assists. He also added three blocks to his stat sheet. Now, Hachimura, and Reddish played in that game, but Davis was the leader of the team. Davis should be enough to help the Lakers cover the spread if he plays his best game.

The Lakers have done a good job defensively this season. They allow opponents to shoot just 45.4 percent from the field, and 35.3 percent from three. The 76ers will be at full health (for the most part) in this game, so Los Angeles will need to play their best defense. It starts with shutting down Embiid, and that matchup in the post with Anthony Davis is going to be a good one. Then the Lakers need to stick on Tyrese Maxey. If Los Angeles can shut down those two players, the team will cover the spread.

Why The 76ers Could Cover The Spread

Philadelphia has been playing good basketball all year. They are 11-5, and they rank sixth in scoring. Philadelphia puts up 119.4 points per game, and that is thanks to Maxey and Embiid. The 76ers need to continue that type of scoring. The Lakers will play them tough, but without James, Hachimura, and Reddish, the 76ers will have plenty of chances at the rim. As long as they can convert, they will cover the spread.

Final Lakers-76ers Prediction & Pick

Anthony Davis versus Joel Embiid is always going to be a fun matchup to keep track of. If those two neutralize eachother, it will come down to the supporting cast. I have a lot more trust in Maxey, so I will rock with the 76ers to cover the spread.

Final Lakers-76ers Prediction & Pick: 76ers – (-110), Over 231 (-110)
