ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski claims “nobody believes Anthony Davis is not staying with the Lakers.”

Davis can become an unrestricted free agent next summer if he declines his 2020-21 player option with the Lakers. AD is widely expected to decline his $28.8 million player option since he can make more money on the open market.

It would shock a lot of people around the league if Davis doesn’t re-sign with the Lakers. LeBron James signed a four-year deal with Los Angeles last offseason. James has a player option for the 2021-22 season, one which he will likely pick up unless something changes in LA.

LeBron and Davis, of course, have the same agent — Rich Paul of Klutch Sports. The two superstars are eager to bring banner No. 17 to the Lakers this season. LA is 2-1 on the season entering Tuesday's matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Davis has only been past the first round of the playoffs once in his career. With the Lakers, AD is hoping to win multiple championships and add to his already impressive résumé.

A six-time All-Star, Davis has career averages of 23.7 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 2.4 blocks. The Brow is putting up 25.0 points and 10.3 rebounds through the Lakers' first three games of this season.
