Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis remains hopeful that he'll be able to return to the team at some point in their last 15 games this 2021-22 season.

Davis, who suffered a sprained foot last February, is set to return to on-court activities on Monday. He is expected to start with spot shooting and ramp up his recovery from there. While it does not guarantee he'll still be able to play in their remaining games, it is undoubtedly a big step in the right direction for the Lakers big man.

For what it's worth, AD himself said he is “very optimistic” about his chances of playing again and staging his comeback this campaign. Nonetheless, he admitted he can't say it's a “100 percent” guarantee given that there are only a few games left to play for the team.

“I'm very optimistic about it,” Anthony said about his return this season, per ESPN. “I'm trying to get back on the court as soon as possible. As far as a number or something, I would love to say 100 but with only a certain amount of games yet, not 100% sure.”

As mentioned, after their game against the Phoenix Suns, the Lakers only have a little over a dozen matches left. Considering that Anthony Davis is just getting back to on-court activities, it will not be surprising if he returns in their final few games or not at all.

Should the Lakers be able to make the playoffs, though, there's a good chance Davis will be able to suit up. But then again, the Purple and Gold will have to be cautious not to reaggravate his injury.
