The Los Angeles Lakers have their backs against the wall and are a solitary game away from being sent home. With everything on the line, their sidelined superstar Anthony Davis is doing everything he can do get on the court.
The Lakers big man detailed his experience in trying to play through the pain of his groin injury. Davis spoke out about trying desperately to be available for Game 5. But moments prior to taking the court, he revealed feeling just how severe the damage was—he couldn't move (via Silver Screen and Roll's Christian Rivas).

“The first time I came out and shot, jumping up and down and just the basic shooting—spot shooting—was fine. It’s when I tried to run and push off that kind of bothered me,” Davis said after practice on Wednesday. “My shooting time is always two hours before the game, so I literally came straight to the arena, put a heat pack on and went straight out there. It didn’t feel good.”
“So, I went to the back, got some treatment for like 20 minutes, got it loose and then went back out and nothing changed from the running to pushing off. I just wasn’t able to move. Every move that we make, it starts with the groin. Any other injury—the knee and all that—you can kind of finagle a way to move, but the groin is a tough place. I just wasn’t able to do it last night.”
That doesn't sound good. The incident was just a couple of hours before Game 5 on Tuesday night, which gives Davis exactly two days of full recovery to be able to play in Game 6. Given the fact that he “couldn't move,” it seems unlikely that the Lakers star will be 100 percent after just a couple of days. But hopefully Anthony Davis heals just enough to be to take the court and help LeBron James force a Game 7.
