The Los Angeles Lakers failed to reach the playoffs in LeBron James' first season with the team. Injuries and inconsistent play have severely hurt the team's chances of breaking the six-year drought. The four-time MVP promised the Purple and Gold fans that he, along with the rest of the team, will be back stronger and better next season, some people don't want to believe in him.

One of those people is former NBA player Antoine Walker, who was a guest on Fox Sports' First Things First recently. He said that LeBron is no longer focused on winning championships.

Throughout the course of this past season, LeBron's commitment to the Lakers has been questioned and criticized. There were those who believe that his move to LA wasn't about basketball, but more about his off-court ventures. He still played at an elite level during the first half of the season, but a groin injury slowed him down.

Walker believes that James would've had a better season had he chosen to stay with the Cleveland Cavaliers. But he didn't. NBA analyst Cris Carter even added that the All-NBA forward was hellbent on going to LA that he didn't give any other team a chance to meet with him last summer.

LeBron has stated on multiple occasions that he wants to bring a championship to the Lakers, and that he wants his jersey to be hung in the rafters of Staples Center. He still has three years to make that happen and prove his critics wrong.

The Lakers will look to improve their roster this summer, but no matter what happens, the outcome of the team's campaign next season will largely depend on how well LeBron plays and how focused he is on winning a championship.
