Despite their struggles, LeBron James has recently committed his long-term future to the Los Angeles Lakers as they look to turn things around and become a contender again. But, he could be exploring other options as well, particularly in the ownership department.

According to The Ringer's Bill Simmons, he has “intel” that the NBA will expand to Vegas and Seattle. He also believes LeBron will most certainly be a a part of it. Via Mediate:

“I have some intel,” Simmons said on the latest edition of The Bill Simmons Podcast. “I think the league is going to expand to Vegas and Seattle.”

“I heard combined we’re talking 6.5, 7 billon of the two teams,” he said.

“I’m just saying the Vegas thing I would watch that,” Simmons added. “I think it’s officially real — Lebron James is definitely going to be involved in that.”

Obviously, we have to take this with a grain of salt, but it wouldn't be surprising to see The King get involved in being a part-owner of an expansion team. While he is a fantastic basketball player, LeBron is also a very good businessman.

The idea of the NBA in Vegas is exciting in itself given how much is always going on in Sin City. As for Seattle, they already had a successful stint with the Supersonics and clearly love the sport.

It's an interesting storyline to keep an eye on in the coming years. By the time it potentially happens, LeBron James would likely be retired so it's not crazy to think he is going to be interested.
