Los Angeles Lakers forward Brandon Ingram is expected to miss the rest of the season after tests revealed a Deep Venous Thrombosis in his arm.

Ingram has missed the past two games due to right shoulder issues, and it made sense for the Lakers to do more testing to find the problem.

Unfortunately, he will now be forced to miss the rest of the season due to the seriousness of the injury, according to an official release from the team.

Ingram was averaging 18.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.0 assists while playing 33.8 minutes per game this season, and it's a shame that he's dealing with what is certainly a scary issue.

Of course, this injury news also adds to the ongoing problems for the Lakers, as they currently sit at 30-35 on the season having lost six of their last seven games.

With a playoff appearance likely out of reach at this point, there are plenty of questions surrounding the franchise moving forward, especially when it comes to the makeup of the roster and head coach Luke Walton's status.

It seemed as though the team was preparing to hit its stride at one point during the season, but LeBron James' injury caused the team to lose its momentum.

And now with Ingram out for the season, it only adds to the challenges for Walton's squad.

It also doesn't help that after Saturday night's game against the Boston Celtics, the Lakers will play five straight road games, which will start on Tuesday against the Chicago Bulls.
