If he had an MVP vote for the 2019-20 season, Boston Celtics small forward Jayson Tatum would give it to Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James.

Before the 2019-20 season was suspended, James and the Lakers had the top record in the Western Conference standings.

LeBron was averaging 25.7 points, 7.9 rebounds and 10.6 assists for the Lakers. The three-time NBA champion and four-time league MVP was also shooting 49.8 percent from the field, 34.9 percent from beyond the arc and 69.7 percent from the free-throw line.

Tatum's answer is interesting given that most media members were going to vote for Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo as MVP again. Giannis and the Bucks had the best record in the NBA before the season was suspended.

The Greek Freak, who won the MVP last season, was putting up 29.6 points, 13.7 rebounds and 5.8 assists for the Bucks. He was shooting 54.7 percent from the field, 30.6 percent from beyond the arc and 63.3 percent from the free-throw line.

The Lakers and Bucks split their matchups this season, with the home team winning both times.

NBA fans are praying the season comes back in the summer and that the Lakers and Bucks meet in the Finals. A seven-game series featuring Giannis Antetokounmpo, LeBron James and Anthony Davis would be the perfect treat for basketball fans.
