With all the moves they made this offseason to bolster their lineup, expectations are continuing to grow for the Los Angeles Lakers, who many believe can go back to becoming a winning group once again this year. Although it would be a tall order for them to reach that goal, as a lot of teams in the West have also improved their lineups, their young group remains confident heading into the season.

One of them is Julius Randle, who has received a lot of praises for his work ethic during the summer. He has put in a lot of work in side the gym and weight room to have better conditioning, and is expected to play at a higher level. His teammate, Corey Brewer, even said recently that he thinks he'll he is due to have a breakout year, via Clutchpoints' Ryan Ward.

Randle is coming off of another solid campaign for the Lakers, where he averaged 13.2 points, 8.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 28.8 minutes per game. Since breaking his right tibia in his first professional game three years ago, he has bounced back strong from it, and proved to all his doubters that he deserves to be selected seventh overall in the 2014 draft.

If Brewer's words will hold true, it will definitely be a huge boost to the the Lakers. Together with their good mix of veterans and young guns, this might just be the season when the team breaks their four year streak of missing out on the playoffs.
