Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Danny Green is truly enjoying his time in Hollywood. The Purple and Gold have been showered with a lot of love from their legion of fans this season, especially since returning to contender status after a 34-8 start.

Green, who has won two titles with the San Antonio Spurs and Toronto Raptors, recently opened up about what it's like joining an internationally beloved franchise such as the Lakers.

“It’s been amazing,” Green said, per Tania Ganguli of the LA Times.  “It just shows that this is America’s team. Every building, we have a bunch of fans, a bunch of people cheering for us, rooting for us no matter where we go. And it’s a great feeling.”

Even while missing the postseason for the last six seasons, the Lakers remain as one of the most popular ball clubs in the league.

A recent statistic by Facebook showed that the Lakers are the most followed NBA team on the platform with over 21 million fans, while the team's superstar LeBron James continues to top jersey sales all over the world.

Danny Green, meanwhile, has been a beloved figure in every city he has played for. The hardworking  3-and-D specialist — whose championship experience made him a coveted free agent over the summer — continues to be a factor on both ends of the floor.

In 42 games for head coach Frank Vogel this season, Green has been norming 9.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.2 steals in 25.3 minutes. He is knocking down 43.6 percent of his shots from the field and 38.5 percent of his 3-point attempts.
