Danny Green signed a two-year contract with the Los Angeles Lakers in the summer of 2019 during free agency, but the sharpshooter only lasted one season in Los Angeles.

On Nov. 18, the Lakers traded Green to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Dennis Schroder. The Thunder then shipped Green to the Philadelphia 76ers, who needed more shooting around All-Stars Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons.

Even though he signed a two-year deal with the Lakers, Green always knew he could be traded by the Lakers after just one season, which is why the three-time champion wasn't shocked at all when his agent told him Los Angeles was dealing him.

“I wasn't shocked. I was just seeing where I was going,” Danny Green told Melissa Rohlin of Fox Sports.

“I was like, OK. Obviously, everybody is getting better. And I knew even when I signed (with the Lakers), the contract that I signed for was going to be hard to maintain, was going to be hard to stabilize, especially with the pieces.”

The Lakers won the 2020 title over the Miami Heat at Walt Disney World in the NBA bubble in six games. However, Green really struggled with his jump shot, as he shot just 28.9 percent from beyond the arc against the Heat in the six-game series.

The Sixers are hoping Green will shoot the ball well for them during the 2020-21 season, which starts on Dec. 22. With the Cleveland Cavaliers, San Antonio Spurs, Toronto Raptors and Lakers, Green is a career 40.0 percent shooter from deep.
