The Los Angeles Lakers recently made a move two blocks down the road from their longtime practice facility in El Segundo to the brand new UCLA Health Center. The state-of-the-art facility will be the team's headquarters moving forward, and it appears Team USA basketball may also see some time at the facility in the future.

Lakers president Jeanie Buss recently sat down with team reporter Mike Trudell to talk about the new practice facility and mentioned Team USA potentially using the facility in 10 years time, transcription via Daniel Starkand of LakersNation.com.

“The big announcement was that Los Angeles is going to host the Olympics in 2028, and this may be the training center for Team USA for when they are preparing for the Olympics. So things that you didn’t even know back when you planned it are the kind of things that will happen.”

Ironically enough, by the team the Olympics rolls around in 2028, the Lakers may have a few representatives sporting the red, white, and blue. The storied franchise appears to be turnings things around under Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka with talk of LeBron James and Paul George potentially considering joining the team next summer.

Although George and James will likely be out of the league by then, Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram or other young players on the squad may still be going strong. Regardless of whether the Lakers have players playing for Team USA or not, the UCLA Health Center is an ideal location for Team USA as of right now.
