Remember Los Angeles Lakers legend…Marcelo Huertas? New Orleans Pelicans guard Jose Alvarado made some people reminisce about the time the NBA was blessed by the presence of Huertas when he pulled off a sneaky, cerebral move during Wednesday night’s action against the Portland Trail Blazers on the road akin to what Huertas once did with the Lakers.

Here’s Huertas camouflaging on the sidelines back in 2016 to make a fantastic defensive play not usually seen in the NBA.
Can't. Stop. Watching.

It’s one thing to recognize a play before it happens to make a smart defensive move. It’s completely another level of awareness to take advantage of the similar hues of one’s team threads and the sideline to stage a brilliant heist the way Alvarado and Huertas did in those plays. Just when we thought you’ve seen them all, guys like Huertas and Alvarado come around to push the envelope of basketball chicanery.
Speaking of the Lakers and the Pelicans, both teams are in tight spots at the moment, each needing wins to guarantee at least a spot in the Play-in tournament over at the Western Conference. The Pelicans are gaining steam with back-to-back wins already, including that match against the Trail Blazers, while the Lakers are in an absolutely precarious position with just half a game inside the Play-in picture.
