The Los Angeles Lakers roster will look vastly different than this previous season after a ton of changes. The start of it all was a trade on the night of the NBA Draft to acquire Russell Westbrook from the Washington Wizards. As part of the deal, the Lakers sent Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to Washington.

On Sunday, Caldwell-Pope– or KCP, as everyone knows him– penned a heartfelt message to the Lakers as he gets ready to suit up for his new team.

KCP spent four years with the Lakers after general manager Rob Pelinka inked him to a one-year deal at the start of it all. After that, KCP became a huge part of the Lakers roster and was a key piece during their title run with his defense and three-point shooting.

After being drafted in the first round by the Detroit Pistons, he left town and dashed for LA, and now will head to the Wizards for his third stop in the NBA. As of now, the Wizards have Spencer Dinwiddie and Bradley Beal, so KCP should have a legitimate shot at some key minutes in DC.

The Lakers also parted ways with Alex Caruso, who himself penned a heartfelt farewell to LeBron James and the Lakers, and suddenly the roster construction in LA is vastly different from their recent NBA Playoffs loss against the Phoenix Suns.
