All things considered, the designers at NBA 2K21 did a nice job with their portrayal of Kobe Bryant. In one still frame, The Lakers legend can be seen casting his famous stare off into the distance:

Kobe Bryant passed away in a helicopter crash in January at the age of 41. Sadly, all nine passengers, including his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, perished in the tragic accident. According to several reports, the group was on its way to The Mamba Academy, where the Lakers legend was to serve as a coach for Gianna's youth team.
Because of his untimely death, the developers at 2K were unable to get a rescan of Kobe's face and body for their upcoming game. Even still, the artists did an excellent job of improving his rendering from past variants.
For now, we'll have to wait and see what the other versions of Kobe will look like. Afro Kobe, also known as “Frobe,” is one model we look forward to. And how about bearded Kobe? There's endless variations of the Lakers icon.
Though his death came far too soon, the legacy and Black Mamba mentality that Kobe Bryant left behind will live on forever.
