Los Angeles Lakers std Kyle Kuzma is the latest personality to call out all the haters of one Carmelo Anthony, who himself had somewhat of a vintage showing on Tuesday. The Portland Trail Blazers veteran hit a dagger trey against the Houston Rockets, helping his team to a 110-102 victory against a surging Houston Rockets side.
Kuzma was quick to remind all the critics about how they pretty much labelled Melo as a has-been not too long ago:
They really tried to cancel Melo

The Lakers star isn't exaggerating with his statement here. A lot of experts had already called time on Anthony's career in the NBA following a tumultuous 2018-19 campaign for the 10-time All-Star. Carmelo Anthony worked extremely hard to get his career back on track, and it was Portland who gave him a shot this season. Since signing Anthony in November of last year, he has averaged 15.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists, while also connecting on 1.5 triples per game on a 38.0-percent clip.
Anthony is no longer the superstar he once was, but he has emerged as an important player for a Portland side that now hopes to take the next step in the playoffs. Last season, the Blazers were eliminated by the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals.
Tuesday's victory moves Portland to just a game and a half behind the eighth-seeded Memphis Grizzlies in the West. This team has not had the bets of seasons so far, but it would be foolish to completely count them out at this point.
