After considering his options and debating about joining the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA bubble, veteran center Dwight Howard made his decision to help the franchise try to win a title over the next few months in Orlando.

Although every Lakers player that has spoken out about Howard's potentially opting out of the NBA restart has sympathized with his situation, they also know that having the three-time Defensive Player of the Year in the fold is crucial to the team's chances of competing for a 17th ring in the franchise's history.

On Tuesday, forward Kyle Kuzma talked to the L.A. media on a Zoom call and opened up about Dwight's decision and what the potential future Hall of Famer has meant to him and the team this season.

“Dwight has been a great teammate all year,” Kuzma said. “He's always been there for people on and off the floor. Playing with no ego, having one common goal, and we're just happy to have him come back and be able to join our team for Orlando in the bubble. I think it's great for us.”

Howard's return only adds to an already intimidating frontcourt led by Anthony Davis. After bouncing around the league for the last few years, Dwight seemed to be on his way out with his best basketball years behind him, but he's resurrected his career in Los Angeles, which at one point was a place fans universally hated him.

As Howard continues to change his image in the NBA, the eight-time All-Star will be a vital piece to the championship puzzle for the Lakers during a playoff run that shrouded in uncertainty.
