Kyle Kuzma will represent the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2019 NBA draft lottery, according to Mike Bresnahan of Spectrum SportsNet.

The draft lottery is scheduled next Tuesday, May 14 in Chicago. The Lakers are projected to get the 11th pick, with a 9.4 percent chance to get into the top four and a two percent chance to get the top pick.

The Lakers finished with a 37-45 (.451) win-loss record and missed the playoffs for the sixth consecutive year.

Despite the additions of LeBron James, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, and Tyson Chandler, the Purple and Gold seek to bolster its roster through the draft yet again.

Among their notable draft picks in the last five years include Julius Randle (2014), D'Angelo Russell (2015), Larry Nance, Jr. (2015), Brandon Ingram (2016), and Lonzo Ball (2017).

The Lakers should get a top prospect from the draft pool. With the way things are going, they have a slim chance of getting the likes of Zion Williamson, RJ Barrett, and Ja Morant. However, they should snag another big-name prospect like Darius Garland, Coby White, Cam Reddish, Jarrett Culver or De'Andre Hunter.

Should the Lakers not make any wholesale changes, they will have a young and inexperienced roster in the 2019-20 NBA season. Nonetheless, Los Angeles isn't shy at pulling the trigger on a big-name free agent.

For now, the Lakers seek to improve on its mediocre finish in 2018-19. It will be interesting to see how things will shape up if they hire Tyronn Lue as their head coach.

Kuzma is one of the Lakers' building blocks. They can only hope he's their good luck charm in the NBA draft lottery on May 14.
