Through nearly the last two decades, Los Angeles Clippers superfan Darrell Bailey, who is better known as Clipper Darrell, has been highly active in supporting the franchise. However, it appears that he may have had a change of heart with the Los Angeles Lakers acquiring All-Star forward LeBron James, who had reached out to Bailey to change his following to the purple and gold.
In response to that, Lakers second-year forward Kyle Kuzma took to social media to give him a suggestion for his nickname with this switch over.
.@clipperdarrell lakernation and I would like you to change your handle name to #LakerDarrell thanks.

There has been plenty of negative feedback on social media toward the idea of Darrell switching over given that he has been a lifelong Clippers fan who has been through all the ups and downs that have occurred over the last 18 years since he has become a season ticket holder. He has been a staple at the home games with his half red, half blue suit in honor of the franchise — along with possessing a car that has been customized to support them.
There is no clarity as to if he will follow through this switching of teams, but it looks like the Lakers players are open to the idea of Darrell sporting a suit that will be half purple and half yellow next season and possibly much further than that. It will be a strange sight to see for both team fanbases if he does choose to go this route given his diehard connection to the Clippers.
In the meantime, this could mark just the beginning of the feedback that he will receive for this major change.
