The Los Angeles Lakers routed the Charlotte Hornets in North Carolina by a score of 128-100 on Saturday night, making it their largest road win since they won their last championship in 2009-10.

LeBron James and Lonzo Ball both finished with triple-doubles for the Lakers, with James posting 24 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists and Ball registering 16 points, 10 boards, and 10 dimes, as well as five steals.

Los Angeles broke the game open in the third quarter, outscoring the Hornets 40-17.

The Lakers shot 53.3 percent from the floor in the blowout victory, making 14 three-pointers. They had seven players score in double figures, including three reserves.

For Charlotte? It was hard to imagine a more dreadful night.

Kemba Walker scored just four points off 2-of-13 shooting, and Jeremy Lamb represented the only Hornets starter to score in double figures with 12 points. Malik Monk led the team with 19 points off the bench.

With the win, Los Angeles moved to 18-11 and jumped in front of the L.A. Clippers for the fourth seed in the Western Conference. The Lakers are just two losses behind the Denver Nuggets for first place.

Los Angeles has won seven of its last 10 games overall. This was also L.A.'s largest win of the season, surpassing its 24-point victory over the Phoenix Suns back on Dec. 2.

The Hornets fell to 14-15 with the loss and have dropped two straight after winning three games in a row. However, in spite of their struggles, they still sit in first place in what has been a horrendous Southeast Division.
