LeBron James' injury status remains unknown, but the Los Angeles Lakers star is hoping he can make his return real soon.

Recent reports indicate that LeBron could suit up for the Lakers when they play the Boston Celtics on Friday. Including Wednesday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks, James has already missed eight straight contests due to abdominal strain.

He was spotted working out prior to the showdown with the Bucks, raising hopes that he would feature for the team as they try to keep themselves in playoff contention in the wild, wild West. While LeBron couldn't ascertain himself if he will play against Boston, his latest message to Dave McMenamin of ESPN suggests he has recovered well that he's in consideration to play already.

“I hope, I hope,” James said when asked about his potential return to the Lakers' lineup on Friday.

At 36 years old and clearly no longer the same explosive athlete he once was, it's no surprise that the Lakers took a cautious approach in LeBron James' injury. Besides, his abdominal strain is no simple issue, with a recent rumor even saying that it could cost him up to eight weeks.

It remains to be seen if James will finally play again when they visit the iconic TD Garden, but it will certainly be a huge boost if he can. The Lakers are 3-5 on the games without James, having lost back-to-back games now to the Chicago Bulls and Bucks.
