Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is one of the greatest basketball players of all time. As it so happens, he also strives to be the best father he can be to his three kids. This is exactly why the four-time NBA champ does everything he can to make sure that his children grow up to be upstanding citizens.
In light of the violence that transpired in the Capital on Wednesday, James was asked how he handles such social issues with his kids. The Lakers star had a straightforward response:
LeBron on how he discusses things like yesterday’s events and other difficult moments with his kids: “Just show them the pictures.”
He also tries to find a way to be positive and inspire them in the face of huge challenges, systemic racism, hatrid and so on.

What's more moving is the second part of the statement. As he expressed, LeBron always tries to see the silver lining in such dire circumstances — with the ultimate goal of inspiring his children.
The Lakers superstar has been one of the most prominent voices in all of sports when it comes to socio-political issues. He's been even more vigorous of late, in the wake of the Black Lives Matter movement. LeBron even set up the More Than A Vote program to encourage people — especially the members of the Black community — to go out and vote during the recently-concluded national elections.
LeBron James has already guaranteed his legacy in the realm of basketball. He will undoubtedly go down in history as one of the greatest players of all time. However, it is clear that the Lakers talent also desires to extend his influence beyond the four corners of the basketball court. He's also achieved so much in that area, but perhaps what's most important for him is that he imbibes the same type of mindset to his children.
