As expected, LeBron James says he was “ecstatic” when he heard the Los Angeles Lakers were acquiring Anthony Davis from the New Orleans Pelicans.
With Davis in the fold, LeBron has the second superstar he needs to compete for a championship this upcoming season. Both AD and James are universally recognized as top-five players in the NBA.

The Lakers are hoping James and Davis can bring banner number 17 to the franchise in 2019-20. One thing is certain: opposing teams are going to have nightmares trying to defend LeBron and Davis in the pick-and-roll game.

The four-time MVP has been resting since April since the Lakers missed the playoffs. So, we're going to be seeing a motivated and fresh version of LeBron this upcoming season.
For the Pelicans in 2018-19, Anthony Davis put up 25.9 points, 12.0 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.4 blocks in 56 games. The six-time All-Star shot 51.7 percent from the floor, 33.1 percent from the 3-point line and 79.4 percent from the charity stripe.
Michael Jordan has the best player efficiency rating in NBA history at 27.91. Want to take a guess who is number two and three on that list? James is second at 27.59 and Davis is third at 27.42.
So, essentially, the Lakers have two of the most efficient scorers in NBA history on their roster. Not bad.
