Alex Caruso's Chicago Bulls defeated LeBron James' Los Angeles Lakers, 115-110, in a hard-fought battle at the United Center on Sunday. Afterward, AC and LBJ's social media activity confirmed what we already knew: it's still nothing but love between the two championship-winning former teammates.

Caruso had 17 points (6-of-11 FG, 3-of-5 3-pt FG), nine rebounds and a +8 in 38 minutes. He went toe-to-toe with LeBron throughout the night, though James often got the better of Caruso in those matchups.

LeBron dropped 31 points, 14 rebounds, and six assists in 38 minutes and dominated the paint — though he hit just 1-of-7 from downtown.

All in all, it was a thrilling battle between the Bulls and Lakers — much tighter and more entertaining than the previous matchup between the two ballgames: a 121-103 Bulls blowout win at the Staples Center on Nov. 15. In that game — Alex Caruso's triumphant return to Los Angeles — the man LeBron calls “The GOAT” and developed distinct on-court chemistry with went scoreless but played a stellar floor game and his two-way impact was palpable.

Midway through that contest — which LeBron missed due to an ab strain — Caruso and James memorably hugged it out.

Following Sunday's nail-biter, Caruso and James expressed their mutual affection via Instagram. First, LeBron shared a photo of him posting up his ex-teammate with the caption “My brother from another FR FR!!!” and tagged Caruso. The Bulls guard then shared that post to his own story, adding the caption: “All love always brother.”

If only the Los Angeles Lakers ownership wasn't so concerned about the luxury tax bill.
