Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is absolutely ecstatic after learning that the Utah Jazz are hiring his former coach David Fizdale to a front office role.

On Tuesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported that the Jazz are getting Fizdale to become an associate general manager and work alongside GM Justin Zanik and CEO Danny Ainge. It came after the team also extended an offer to Boston Celtics assistant Will Hardy to become Utah's next head coach.

Sure enough, LeBron is delighted to hear the news, and he let everyone know it on Twitter. The Lakers star has a close relationship with Fizdale, who served as an assistant coach for the Miami Heat when he won two championships with the franchise.

Fizdale was also an assistant for the Lakers in 2021-22, but the team didn't retain him after firing Frank Vogel and hiring Darvin Ham as the new head coach.

As Woj noted, it is David Fizdale's first stint in the front office after 18 years in the coaching ranks. It remains to be seen what his full role will be, but a huge challenge certainly awaits the Jazz front office since major changes are expected this offseason.

Utah has suffered several playoff disappointments over the last few years, and so hopes are high the team can turn things around and set the stage for Donovan Mitchell and co. to finally contend for the title.

While the Jazz could be a thorn on the Lakers' side in the West, LeBron James will undoubtedly always be supportive of his former coach and his endeavors.
