Even Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is pretty disappointed with rivals Los Angeles Clippers after they failed to walk the talk in the 2020 playoffs.

Sitting down with former teammates Richard Jefferson and Channing Frye, as well as host Allie Clifton, on the Road Trippin' podcast on Monday, The King did not hold back when talking about the Clips' inability to live up to the supposed Battle of LA hype.

Check out the sentiments of the Lakers superstar at the seven-minute mark of the clip.

“They put theyself in a position to get what they've been talking s–t about all year, ). “And I just couldn't fathom the part or come to the realization that they did not seek that opportunity when it was right there … up 3-1.”

The four-time NBA MVP, obviously, was talking about the Clippers' epic meltdown in their Western Conference semifinals tiff versus the Denver Nuggets where they squandered a 3-1 lead. Much like most NBA fans, LeBron James admitted he couldn't believe the powerhouse Clips squad would just roll over like that.

“I just did not see them losing, just like everybody else in the basketball and sports world, did not see them losing that series,” the Lakers forward added

The biggest storyline heading into the 2019-20 campaign was the massive improvements of both LA-based teams. Led by the brilliance of their two superstars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, the Clipspers actually got the better of the Lakers in their first two regular-season encounters. The Clips weren't humble in victory either, rubbing those wins against the Purple and Gold fanbase as often as they could.

Both teams finished as the two top seeds in the West and were expected to duke it out in the West finale. The Lakers held their end of the bargain (and ultimately won the chip), but the Clippers went back to their losing ways and were the biggest disappointments last year.

While that Laker-Clipper rivalry has died down a bit heading into the 2020-21 campaign, there are still plenty of juicy storylines to go around between the two crosstown rivals.

The Clippers welcomed new additions this offseason, but LeBron and company did so as well. Looks like this rivalry is not going away any time soon.
