LeBron James is letting new teammate Anthony Davis wear number 23 with the Los Angeles Lakers, according to Yahoo Sports.

Davis has worn number 23 every one of his seven seasons with the New Orleans Pelicans, and that won't change as Davis makes the move to Hollywood.

James wore number 23 his first seven seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers but changed his number to 6 when he signed with the Miami Heat.

When James moved back to Cleveland, and with his first season with the Lakers, he changed back to the number 23.

After a monster trade with the New Orleans Pelicans, the Lakers acquired Davis in exchange for point guard Lonzo Ball, small forward Brandon Ingram, shooting guard Josh Hart, the fourth pick in the 2019 NBA draft and three other future first round picks.

Los Angeles also traded Moe Wagner, Isaac Bonga and Jemerrio Jones to the Washington Wizards to clear enough cap space for another max contract this offseason.

Many players have been rumored to the Lakers this offseason to go alongside James and Davis, including D'Angelo Russell, Al Horford, Kyrie Irving and Jimmy Butler.

It is uncertain which number James will wear now that Davis gets 23, possibly a return to number six.
