LeBron James has seen the different vibes that surround The City of Angels — a radical change from the disappointment last season in the wake of the Los Angeles Lakers missing the playoffs.

Since then, James and the Lakers have reloaded with the additions of Anthony Davis and many other free agents who best suit James' ball-dominant playmaking style, giving him the help he so badly clamored for last season.

Not only are the Lakers excelling on the court, but they're enjoying the fruits of great team chemistry and a fun work environment:

“I'm not by myself in this,” said James, according to Melissa Rohlin of SI's All Lakers. “It's just the character of guys that we have in the locker room, the way that we wanted to approach this season. Me being one of the leaders, I want just try to echo that throughout the locker room, throughout the weight room, throughout the training, throughout the film sessions, travel, plane rides, bus rides, whatever. Just trying to create a great environment for us to feel like it's not like work. I'm happy to come here everyday because you're happy to be around your brothers and share that time.”

Unlike the 2018-19 season, the Lakers consulted James this time around, surrounding him with sharpshooters, defenders, and a superstar partner to take the reins from here on out. LeBron helped build chemistry from the get-go:

“We had some nice dinner, nice lunches,” James said of his interactions with general manager (and now president) Rob Pelinka. “Did some things together throughout those days, and I think it just kind of springboarded what we wanted our season to be about. Obviously the wins and losses will take care of itself. We don't ever know what's going to happen with that. But as far as how we can come together, and how we can just be very blunt and very organic to to one another, [that] is something that you can control.”

The Lakers have given Angelenos plenty of reasons to be upbeat, racing to the top of the West with a 34-8 record and recently winning 10 of their last 11 games.

So long as the wins keep coming, LeBron James will keep feeling that great vibe in and out of the locker room, now that the Lakers are cruising to the top spot in a challenging Western Conference.
