There’s always fun to be had in the LeBron James household. Even as the best player in the world, there aren’t many characters bigger than the kid from Akron. He may be 33-years-old and a 15-year NBA veteran, but James is always up for a laugh and joke away from the floor, especially with his wife and three kids.

Last night, the James gang were at it again, lively as ever and full of fun as James documented his three kids having a great time together.

The four-time MVP and his family look extremely settled already in their LA home, even though they’ve just moved their entire lives from Cleveland to Los Angeles. James has swapped the wine and gold for purple and gold for this upcoming campaign, and it is widely reported his family played a major role in his decision.

The family’s influence in this choice becomes even more evident when you look at the possible destinations James could have chosen if his decision was based purely on basketball and winning right now. He could have stayed in Cleveland playing for the Cavaliers and traded for other stars to join him, he could have teamed up with Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid in Philadelphia for the 76ers, or he could have joined the Houston Rockets with good friend Chris Paul and reigning MVP James Harden.

All these options made more sense for James from a basketball perspective, as each franchise with his services would be in a greater position to win a championship right now as opposed to the Lakers. In comparison, the Lakers are currently filled with youthful talent and potential as currently constructed, but little championship pedigree or experience.

Despite all this, James chose Hollywood, and took on an even greater challenge of trying to mold a team with the combined worst record in the league in the previous five season into a genuine championship contender.

Maybe we are wrong, and perhaps this decision was a basketball one first and foremost, as bringing the Lakers their 17th championship would be an incredible feat to add to his resume, and would place them on par with the Boston Celtics for the most championships in NBA history. Or, his family has played the biggest role in this move, and James has taken the challenge in his stride to keep his family happy as his main focus.

Either way, the Lakers now call James their own, and they’ll expect him to deliver during his four-year stint.
