Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has been defying Father Time for several years now. We've seen a lot of all-time greats play past their 40's, with Vince Carter and Dirk Nowitzki as the latest ones that come to mind. LeBron James appears to be heading that same path.

It's truly amazing how James continues to play heavy minutes at a high level for the Purple and Gold. The way he takes care of his body in the offseason is truly the key to his durability. The King breaks the bank to ensure he is in tip-top shape every season.

The 16-time All-Star showed no signs of slowing down against the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday. James even put the Pels' young bloods to school with this ferocious putback slam. He finished two rebounds shy of a triple-double, recording 21 points, 11 assists, and eight boards in the Los Angeles' 112-95 victory.

But as much as Lakers fans would love to see LeBron play forever, we all know that's virtually impossible. Still, James might have to stick around for a while to fulfill his ultimate dream of playing alongside his son, Bronny, in the NBA.
